Note: The VacuPractor user in fig. 1-4 has tucked it under loose fitting clothing. We've added drawn views to the corners of the pictures to show what happens as she goes through the movements required to make the VacuPractor's unique therapy possible.

How It Works

The VacuPractor is wetted with a damp cloth or spray bottle. When the user lies on it a pocket of air is trapped behind the curvature of the lower spine. The air pocket is then expelled by raising the legs and forcing the spine into the VacuPractor. When the legs are lowered, a vacuum is formed that pulls straight down on the apex of the curvature. The rocking forward motion of the hips creates a second lengthening force that relieves pressure on disks.

The human spine, marvel of engineering
It is:
(1) A single support for our bodies.
(2) A multi-directional pivoting, twisting, bending column that far surpasses anything man has ever engineered.
(3) Protector of the spinal cord.
Dangerous Curves
An engineer will tell you that the straightest column is the strongest column. Our spines need the curves God built into them. Our hips have to rotate up and down to facilitate walking. The curvatures also act like the suspension in your car to smooth the ride. A completely rigid spine would cause shock to the brain with any movement such as running or jumping.
In the lower inward curve of your spine the vertebra have more space between them in the front (toward your stomach), and less space between them in the back. The back side of the spine is where nerves and major blood vessels enter/exit. This makes the disks between them thinner in the back than they are in the front. Because of this shape any downward pressure is putting forces on the disks that attempt to "watermelon seed" them out the front side. That pressure exists in everyone. The disks aren't commonly sent out from between the vertebra, but it does happen. These forces are always applying pressure to the spinal cord. That inward push of the disks between the vertebrae exists. Most back surgeries are done because of a problem somewhere between the third and fifth lumbar. This area is the midpoint of the lower curvature; The weakest point.

Daily Abuse
When we lift something that's too heavy, or jump off the porch, or shovel too much snow etc. The extra downward forces and added shocks force the lower curvature further inward reducing the space needed for proper nerve function. Each time this happens the disks become more wedged shaped the same way a piano's hammers will develop a flat side from years of striking the strings. Muscles in the surrounding area may go into spasm because they are being over stressed in their attempt to solve the problem. This makes back pain progressive. As we age, less force is required to send muscles into spasm, because the column becomes weaker. Disk compression, and years of downward pressure that increases the curves are the reasons people become shorter as they reach higher ages.

A downward inward pressure is being applied to our lumbar region every time we stand. There is never an upward outward pressure applied. The VacuPractor provides both of those forces simultaneously. The patented method of treatment is very simple. The way you fix a problem is to undo the causes of the problem. The VacuPractor does not permanently undo the causes of back pain. It might if you spent more time on it than you spent standing and sitting, instead it reduces them, it reverses them for a while.

"When the solutions are simple God is answering"--- Albert Einstein
The vacuum pressure provided by the VacuPractor pulls straight out on the lower spine,  a force that a Chiropractor or Physical Therapist cannot achieve.
No human can pull hard enough on the ends of a bent fork to straighten it, however a small child can straighten a bent fork by pushing straight against the apex of the bend. The VacuPractor’s outward pull increases the anterior spaces and evens pressures across the disk surfaces while creating more space between the vertebra promoting proper nerve function and reducing disk compression, and/or pinching.
The VacuPractor's outward pull also lengthens your spine because it is held straighter. This lengthening stretches the muscles behind your spine. Stretching is the natural way to relax a muscle in spasm. The same way you would treat a cramp in your calf muscle by pulling up on the ball of your foot.

Hat trick
Use of the VacuPractor:
(1) Increases clearances between the vertebrae for better nerve function.
(2) Stretches muscles in spasm reducing or eliminating the need for muscle relaxing medications.
(3) Reverses or slows the onset of lower spinal problems.
